The Mojave Desert is a fierce and unyielding environment that is not welcoming to humans. People die by the elements, lack of water, snakes, scorpions, and poverty.
When the Corona Virus appeared, people became frightened. Even though they are already isolated, the fear took over. Many people tried to police their neighbors, forcing them to stay home and not rent their vacation rental properties by reporting them to the county, even threatening people’s lives.
On the other side, some people, determined not to be governed refused to believe there is a virus and won’t even wear a mask.
Fear is everywhere; the stay-at-home orders brought it to the surface.
