During the Covid-19 pandemic in Vancouver, Canada, my boyfriend and I decide to move in together for lock-down, so we can be in each other's bubble.
He has two children who normally live with him fifty per cent of time. Unfortunately they are not able to be with him for the majority of lock-down. Aged 8 and 10 there are playful signs of them all over the house. As the sun moves around the house everyday, pieces of the girls pop in the light, their presence in their absence, reminding us of the passage of time.
There is both uncertainty, and frustration, but also magic in what the light chooses to reveal under the shadow of the pandemic.
